Modiform releases new catalogue

Publicatiedatum: 01-07-2021

Sustainable option goes without saying

With the new season on the horizon, Modiform is publishing the digital catalogue for 2021-2022. The Leusden-based company prioritises maximum preservation of raw materials, which is why closing the material loop is also an important focal point when compiling the product range. The catalogue includes products that contribute to this, to ensure that it goes without saying that every choice is a sustainable one! Many of the products have been awarded the cyclos certificate, which means that an independent body has uncontestably proved that the products are recyclable.

New standard

Recyclable pots and trays made from recyclable materials represent an important part of Modiform’s product range. For example, the recycled and recyclable (R&R) pots are the new standard. Each transport tray represents a sustainable choice, because these are always produced using 100% recycled polystyrene (PS). Modiform’s return system ensures that these trays are recycled and converted into beautiful new products.

Biodegradable and compostable

The ecoExpert products are made from 100% recycled cardboard from FSC-certified sources. Above all, the range of pots, trays, carry packs, and punnets which recently received cyclos certification are biodegradable and compostable. The products are strong and – thanks to the addition of an organic, biodegradable wax – waterproof. Growers can use the ecoExpert trays for plants that are traded at auction.

Propagation: tried-and-tested product further improved!

Modiform’s first multitrays date as far back as 1988 and are still in use. The strong and flat edge ensures excellent loading at the nursery. These multitrays can be made with a thicker film to provide a longer product life. For the paper plugs, Modiform focuses on unique designs to ensure that good air circulation around the plug as well as the cup drainage are further optimised and that optimal root growth is promoted.

Sustainable business opportunities

John van der Maarel (Sales Director at Modiform) says, ‘We want to do everything to promote sustainability. This is only possible if the purchasers of our products can also choose products that add value for them in addition to being able to choose sustainability. With the new and innovative products we present in the new catalogue, that is definitely the case!’

About Modiform

Modiform’s focal points for sustainability come together in its Closed Loop Commitment. The material loop must and can be closed. Using the right materials and production techniques can reduce products’ environmental impact. The Closed Loop Commitment consists of many building blocks: from sharing knowledge to producing recyclable products made from recyclable materials (like plastic or alternatives like cardboard) for the ecoExport range. As such, Modiform focuses on the various links in the supply chain and is always looking for ways in which the various parties can collaborate, from breeder and grower, to trade and retail. Modiform supports, facilitates, and develops a whole spectrum of solutions – from simple to complex – for packaging needs and consequently adds value for the client. Thinking and acting sustainably is in the genes of this family company. Modiform collects materials from wider society and upcycles these into high-quality and unique products as well as innovative concepts.
